 toThe Nquire Story

Nquire is a charity, supported by many churches in West Reading together with other individuals.

We offer free, confidential support, advice and information to anyone in the community to the West of Reading.

We work within a non-judgmental Christian ethos and have been awarded the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) for General Help.

Nquire first started in 2001 as a spin-off from the Jubilee Café, in Coronation Square, Southcote. The Café closed in 2004 but by then Nquire had moved house to the Christian Community Action shop next door.  Nquire relocated to an office within  Grange United Reformed Church in 2006, and is continuing to operate from this office today.

Over time Nquire has become increasingly busy despite not officially advertising.  2010 saw 50% more clients than in 2007 and during the Autumn of 2011, Nquire took the bold step of appointing an extra Advice Worker.  We currently employ three part-time Advice Workers, operating between Monday and Thursday.

In 2012 we started an additional Advice Surgery at Kennet Valley Free Church in Calcot on Tuesday mornings and in 2013 a further surgery was started at the Coley Park Baptist Church Cafe on Monday afternoons (term-time only).
